High Five Drew

So, I watched My Date with Drew today. I highly recommend this docucomi to anybody and everybody who needs a little pickme up and some artificial sunshine in their life. (read: ME at the moment). Upon watching the film though, i realized the main focus of the film, on this guy's life and accomplishing his dream of getting a date with Drew Barrymore, he gives a number of high fives, and I had to ask myself, what was the origin of the highfive?

Being the librarian that I am, I quickly went to the main source that every non-librarian also goes to. Google. Honestly, Google is the reason why more librarians don't have to answer phonecalls from the younger generation asking these types of questions of their reference librarian at the local public library anymore.

So, for those of you wishing to know the "TRUE" origin: check out National High Five Day.

Also I found this really great shirt today. I was in Scheels here in IC and was wearing my Indiana Sweatshirt. The ONLY sweatshirt I packed for my days in IA (I also forgot to pack my hairbrush - cause I packed fast, and at 8 am after getting an hour of sleep). So, the Indiana Ohio State game was on, and I was looking for a new Iowa sweatshirt. Indiana lost, and I picked out an Iowa sweatshirt, so I guess I was planning to show my true loyalties. I found a t-shirt with GROVER. Yes, SUPER GROVER in fact. which says "Super Iowa Fan" sooo very cute!!! I couldn't pass it up.

Also, good luck to a fellow friend who reads this quite often as he embarks on a new experience. And hopefully everything is okay with two other friends' mothers at this point, because I haven't asked how they are doing in a while.
