I watched this movie the other night. it's not on the afi list (at least I don't remember it being on the list).
I didn't really like it though. There was something sort of undercutting about a woman who "plays dumb, and is really smart" in that "women lose their charms over the years but diamonds are always like hard currency" I mean, then she goes and tells the guy she loves him, but that she wants diamonds from him and gets a tiara from another dude, that she seems to basically be leading on. Perhaps it's just because I didn't grow up during this era...but PUH_LEASE. It just didn't sit right with me. I did enjoy the musical aspect, and Jane Russell's character, but overall the movie left me feeling pretty cold and jaded toward blondes with alterior motives.
